BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s domestically developed defense industry products continue to attract growing international attention at a time when regional tensions are increasing and air defense needs are becoming more urgent. According to statements made by ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci, Gulf countries have shown strong interest in the company’s SUNGUR air defense system as well as PUSU, a solution developed from the laser-guided CİRİT munition. İkinci emphasized that recent conflicts have once again highlighted the critical importance of effective systems against air defense threats, ballistic missiles, and drones. He also noted that Türkiye is continuing to build its “Steel Dome” vision at full speed with all of its integrated defense components.
ROKETSAN’s remarks underlined how modern battlefields are increasingly shaped by kamikaze drones and low-cost airborne threats. Murat İkinci stated that systems such as SUNGUR and PUSU are being actively considered as effective responses to these evolving threats. However, despite export demand from abroad, he stressed that the company’s first priority remains meeting the operational needs of Türkiye’s own security forces. ROKETSAN is therefore focused primarily on equipping the Turkish Armed Forces before offering these advanced capabilities to friendly and allied nations. This approach reflects not only Türkiye’s growing defense production capacity, but also its determination to preserve national priority in critical military systems.
Another major point highlighted in the report was ROKETSAN’s expanding production capacity. Murat İkinci explained that production and deliveries of the TAYFUN ballistic missile are continuing, while serial production of the ATMACA anti-ship missile is also progressing. He stated that the company is working on a 24-hour, three-shift production model in order to meet the needs of the armed forces, and that a large portion of its revenue is being reinvested into serial production infrastructure. Thanks to this strategy, ROKETSAN has significantly increased its output level. It was also indicated that new ballistic missile products may emerge in 2026, while longer-range cruise missiles are expected to enter the inventory in the near future.
ROKETSAN also stressed through its social media communications that serial production and deliveries of the TAYFUN ballistic missile and SOM cruise missile are continuing as planned. Altogether, these developments show that Türkiye is moving toward a more sustainable, export-capable, and high-tempo defense industrial base, one that is able not only to meet current operational needs but also to compete in international markets. The strong interest coming from Gulf countries demonstrates the rising credibility and deterrent value of Turkish defense products in the regional market. It also suggests that systems such as SUNGUR and PUSU may attract even broader international attention in the coming period.
