BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN’s nationally developed defense systems will enter service with the Indonesian Armed Forces under two separate agreements signed during SAHA 2026. The signing ceremony, held at the Istanbul Expo Center, once again demonstrated Türkiye’s growing export capability in advanced defense technologies and its expanding strategic cooperation with friendly countries.
The first agreement covers unmanned surface vessel payloads to be used by the Indonesian Naval Forces. Under this contract, ASELSAN’s national systems developed for maritime platforms will contribute to Indonesia’s unmanned naval capabilities. Payloads integrated into unmanned surface vessels play a critical role in reconnaissance, surveillance, target detection, situational awareness and operational effectiveness.
The second agreement covers mission-critical communication systems for the Indonesian Armed Forces. In modern warfare, secure, uninterrupted and resilient communication infrastructure is strategically important for the coordinated operation of land, naval and air elements. ASELSAN’s experience in communication technologies is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s command-control and operational coordination capabilities.
The agreements were signed during a ceremony attended by ASELSAN President and CEO Ahmet Akyol. ASELSAN Deputy General Manager Özgür Taylan Sarı and PT Republic Director Ivandry Febriando Sitepo took part in the signing. The agreements signed at SAHA 2026 show ASELSAN’s increasing visibility in international markets and the stronger positioning of Turkish defense technologies across different regions.
Indonesia, with its vast archipelagic geography and maritime security requirements, continues to invest in naval platforms, communication systems and unmanned technologies. In this context, ASELSAN’s unmanned surface vessel payloads and mission-critical communication systems stand out as solutions that can support the country’s maritime security, border surveillance, joint operations and inter-force coordination needs.
The contracts signed with Indonesia show that Türkiye’s defense industry has become a strong supplier not only in platforms, but also in subsystems, communication infrastructure and mission equipment. The use of nationally engineered ASELSAN systems by Indonesia is expected to further strengthen defense industry cooperation between the two countries. The agreements signed at SAHA 2026 are considered important outcomes of ASELSAN’s global growth and export-oriented strategy.
