The Coastal Surveillance Radar System (CSRS) is a sea monitoring system developed entirely with domestic resources by HAVELSAN. This system is designed to provide situational awareness along the coasts and territorial waters of Turkey, identify elements at sea, and support reconnaissance, patrol, search and rescue operations. CSRS is equipped with radar, electro-optic sensors, and other sensors, and it has an integrated structure with public institutions.
Under the Phase-1 Project, CSRS includes the following components:
The system aims to provide effective radar coverage along the country's coasts and territorial waters, create a Defined Maritime Picture with the help of electro-optic sensors and identification data from other public institutions, enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement and search/rescue activities, and support the fight against crimes by enabling data sharing with relevant public institutions.
Technical Specifications:
CSRS features crucial capabilities such as time-stamped detection, tracking classification and identification, track management, fusion/correlation, decision support and risk assessment, sensor and communication control, search and rescue and mission management, reporting, integration with public institutions, data and voice recording with playback, simulation and training, station security control, service-oriented, and three-layered architecture.
This system serves as a strategic tool for ensuring Turkey's maritime security and border protection, playing a critical role in early detection of potential threats at sea. Developed with local and national capabilities, CSRS represents a significant step for the country's defense industry and technological independence.
