BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense industry made a remarkable impact at the Paris Airshow, held between June 16–22 at Le Bourget Airport in the French capital. The world’s oldest and largest aviation exhibition became a stage for Türkiye’s homegrown aerospace achievements, as nationally developed platforms representing the nation’s technological independence took the spotlight. Turkish companies displayed a comprehensive portfolio, including the fifth-generation fighter jet KAAN, the light attack and training aircraft HÜRJET, the basic trainer HÜRKUŞ, the Gökbey utility helicopter, and the high-altitude long-endurance UAV AKSUNGUR.
TUSAŞ’s fixed and rotary-wing programs, along with Baykar’s combat-proven UAV and UCAV systems, were among the key attractions. ASELSAN showcased its cutting-edge sensor, radar, electro-optical, and communication technologies, while ROKETSAN presented its advanced missile and ammunition systems. Together, these exhibits demonstrated the strength of Türkiye’s integrated defense ecosystem—combining platforms, payloads, and munitions within a unified technological framework. Numerous international military officials visited the Turkish stands, receiving detailed briefings on system capabilities, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness.
One of the event’s highlights was the announcement of LBA Systems, a joint venture established between Baykar and Italy’s Leonardo. The new company aims to develop and produce next-generation unmanned systems, with a focus on mission equipment integration and advanced sensor technologies. The initiative also seeks to strengthen Türkiye’s presence in the European market and foster joint production and certification within allied frameworks.
With aerial demonstrations and dynamic exhibitions planned throughout the week, the Paris Airshow is expected to attract over 300,000 industry professionals by its conclusion on June 22. For Türkiye, the event serves not only as a global showcase for its rapidly advancing defense industry but also as a strategic platform to expand export opportunities, forge new partnerships, and highlight the country’s growing role in next-generation aerospace and defense innovation.
