Armelsan and Turkish Aerospace signed a memorandum of understanding at SAHA 2026 for the integration of Orkun 2053 Dipping Sonar into the GÖKBEY Helicopter.

Türkiye’s first indigenous general-purpose helicopter, GÖKBEY, has been delivered to the Turkish Land Forces Command following its earlier delivery to the Gendarmerie.

The indigenous GÖKBEY helicopter was used for the first time during “Boarding and Disembarking from a Helicopter Training” held in Kastamonu. With 2,555 trainees, the activity also became the highest-attendance training of its kind.

The first three GÖKBEY air ambulance helicopters are scheduled for delivery to the Ministry of Health within the next 6 to 8 months, marking a major step for Türkiye’s indigenous rotary-wing capability.

Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that with GÖKBEY receiving its Type Certificate, Türkiye has joined the select group of countries capable of managing aircraft certification through a fully national and digital system.

Türkiye’s indigenous multipurpose helicopter GÖKBEY has passed a major milestone in civil aviation by receiving its type certificate. Officials announced that the first delivery will be made to the Ministry of Health in July 2026, while orders have already reached 75 helicopters.

The GÖKSİM Full Flight Simulator, developed by HAVELSAN for the GÖKBEY helicopter, has reached the delivery stage. Pilots will now receive EASA-certified training on the indigenous system.

TUSAŞ will focus on intensive testing, prototyping, and serial production of KAAN, HÜRJET, ANKA III, and GÖKBEY projects throughout 2026.
