Developed by ROKETSAN, Türkiye’s heavy-class indigenous torpedo AKYA has entered serial production, with the first deliveries made to the Navy’s submarines.

Developed by Roketsan, Türkiye’s AKYA heavyweight torpedo will undergo its first live warhead firing test from TCG Preveze on December 26.

Turkey successfully conducted the first real-target firing of the AKYA torpedo using the indigenous MÜREN combat management system, marking a major step into the “Champions League” of submarine warfare.

The AKYA Heavyweight Torpedo is expected to begin deliveries by year-end, with a live-fire and detonation test using a warhead-equipped version planned for next year.
