BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense and aviation industry continues to strengthen its global presence, setting new export records in 2025. According to data shared by Defense Industry Agency (SSB) President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, the sector achieved a 54% increase in April exports, reaching $539 million compared to the same month last year. This represents the highest April export figure ever recorded in the history of Turkey’s defense industry.
The first four months of 2025 also reflect impressive growth. From January to April, exports surged by 67%, totaling $2.238 billion. Over the last 12 months, exports rose 42% year-over-year, amounting to $7.635 billion. This growth highlights Turkey’s expanding global defense network, with sales now reaching over 185 countries and encompassing more than 230 different product categories.
President Görgün emphasized that this success is not a temporary spike but the result of strategic planning, sustained investment, and technology-driven growth. He noted that the SSB continues to support both large defense firms and SMEs to enhance production capabilities and diversify export markets. Görgün stated, “We will continue to work tirelessly for a Turkey that grows with national technologies.”
Experts attribute this upward trend to Turkey’s recent progress in land, air, naval, and electronic warfare systems, along with strong government support for defense diplomacy and exports. Turkish defense firms have also gained a competitive edge by offering integrated packages that include platforms, munitions, training, and maintenance services — particularly appealing to markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. If this pace continues, 2025 is on track to surpass last year’s record-breaking export total.
