Türkiye’s defense industry has marked another milestone in modernization efforts for the Land Forces Command. According to a statement by the Presidency of Defense Industries Chairman, İsmail Demir, the specially modernized armored combat vehicle successfully completed its test phase. This achievement highlights the ability of domestically developed systems to meet the highest standards of security and performance.
The modernization program was carried out in collaboration with ASELSAN and FNSS. As part of the upgrades, the vehicles were equipped with the Nefer weapon system, laser warning system, and close-range surveillance systems. These additions have significantly enhanced both defensive and offensive capabilities, ensuring greater battlefield effectiveness.
In the first phase of the project, 133 armored combat vehicles are scheduled to undergo modernization. This large-scale effort will transform the existing fleet into more powerful, safer, and more versatile platforms, strengthening the operational superiority of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Beyond immediate operational benefits, the successful modernization of these vehicles showcases the strength of Türkiye’s defense industry and its ability to deliver advanced solutions using domestic resources. The project not only reinforces national defense independence but also contributes to Türkiye’s long-term strategic goals in defense technology.
