BREAKING NEWS
Meteksan Savunma has transformed its expertise in radar and electronic warfare into a cutting-edge solution with the FELIX UAV Defense System. Showcased for the first time at IDEF 2023, FELIX integrates the Retinar AESA Radar, MIMO capabilities, the MERT Electronic Attack System, and advanced command-and-control software. Designed to protect both fixed facilities and moving VIP convoys, the system delivers 360-degree surveillance, extended altitude coverage, and dynamic spectrum management, effectively detecting and neutralizing both low-flying micro UAVs and faster aerial threats.
One of FELIX’s most significant advantages is its ability to operate while on the move. Mounted on vehicles, it can continue scanning, tracking, and reactive jamming during maneuvers. According to Meteksan Savunma’s General Manager Selçuk Kerem Alparslan, the system has an effective range of up to 24 kilometers and has proven highly effective against mini/micro UAVs and kamikaze drones. FELIX can simultaneously track multiple targets and apply target-specific jamming, making it particularly effective against swarm attacks.
Built on a software-based, upgradable architecture, FELIX leverages artificial intelligence to enhance threat classification and improve response accuracy. The combination of fast-scanning AESA/MIMO radar and the MERT Electronic Attack System’s wideband reactive jamming provides multiple countermeasure options, including GPS/GNSS spoofing and command-link disruption. Moreover, the system is capable of uninterrupted 24/7 operation, even under adverse weather conditions, and has successfully passed field trials. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.
With FELIX, Türkiye strengthens its position in electronic warfare and air defense technologies, offering an operational solution for governments and organizations seeking protection against emerging low-altitude and swarm drone threats.
