BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has achieved another historic milestone on its journey toward independent access to space. In a recent test conducted by DeltaV Space Technologies, a domestically developed two-stage hybrid rocket system successfully reached an altitude exceeding 200 kilometers. This breakthrough not only represents a national achievement but also stands as one of the highest altitudes ever reached using hybrid rocket technology worldwide.
The Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) announced the success on social media, highlighting that multiple complex test objectives were accomplished. The statement underscored that the system’s performance marks a major leap forward for Türkiye’s space capabilities, describing it as a significant contribution to global hybrid propulsion research. The SSB added that such hybrid engines—known for their safety, cost efficiency, and versatility—are expected to play a crucial role in future space missions, directly supporting Türkiye’s National Space Program.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of the SSB, celebrated the test as a symbol of Türkiye’s growing technological self-sufficiency and vision. Quoting, “Can a nation’s will be etched into the skies? It can… through faith, engineering, and perseverance,” Görgün described the achievement as more than a technical milestone — it was a declaration of Türkiye’s belief and determination to carve its own path in space exploration. He added that the success demonstrated Türkiye’s transformation from a defense manufacturer to a country capable of developing and launching its own rocket systems.
Görgün also commended the DeltaV team, engineers, and scientists for their dedication: “You didn’t just break a record; you carried this nation’s confidence and dreams into space.” He emphasized that this milestone aligns perfectly with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “National Technology Initiative”, which continues to drive innovation in Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industries.
With this record-setting test, DeltaV has positioned itself at the forefront of hybrid rocket development. The next phase of Türkiye’s space roadmap is expected to include orbital launch systems and satellite delivery missions using domestically developed propulsion technologies. Analysts believe this progress will significantly reduce foreign dependence in both defense and civilian space programs, moving Türkiye closer to becoming a spacefaring nation capable of its own satellite launches.
