BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry has started 2026 with a strong export performance, continuing its upward momentum in global markets. According to a statement by Presidential Defence Industry President Haluk Görgün, the sector achieved $553.4 million in exports in February 2026, marking a 27.2% increase compared to the same month last year. This significant rise once again highlights the growing international competitiveness of Türkiye’s defense ecosystem.
In the first two months of the year, covering January and February 2026, total exports reached $1.107 billion. This represents a remarkable 35.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The figures reflect not only numerical growth but also the strengthening position of Türkiye’s high value-added, technology-driven defense products in global markets.
Haluk Görgün emphasized that this success is the result of a sustainable export strategy, diversified market structure, and a robust production infrastructure. He noted that battlefield-proven systems, advanced technology platforms, and integrated defense solutions have significantly contributed to rising international demand. The industry’s expanding cooperation agreements and broader geographical reach have also played a crucial role in accelerating export performance.
Görgün further underlined that the achievement is closely aligned with the National Technology Initiative and the National Competency Initiative vision implemented under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He stated that the defense and aerospace sector will continue to make strategic contributions to Türkiye’s overall export targets. With its focus on high-technology and value-added production, the industry aims to strengthen Türkiye’s global position and maintain its export growth trajectory throughout 2026.
Industry representatives suggest that if the current momentum continues, new export records could be achieved by the end of the year. Increasing global demand, an expanding product portfolio, and enhanced domestic production capacity are positioning Türkiye as a stronger and more reliable supplier in the international defense market.
