HÜRJET, the jet trainer aircraft developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) with national capabilities, has successfully completed its low-altitude and high-speed test campaign conducted out of Antalya, marking another major milestone in the program. The tests, carried out over the Mediterranean, were of critical importance for evaluating the aircraft’s performance under different flight conditions and for advancing system verification activities to a higher level. According to the official statement, all planned phases of the campaign were completed without any disruption.

Two separate HÜRJET prototypes took part in the flight test activities. During the campaign, the aircraft performed a total of 18 sorties and successfully completed 79 predetermined test points. These flights are considered highly significant in terms of assessing the platform’s aerodynamic performance, flight control capability, stability at high speeds, and the efficiency of its onboard mission systems. In particular, the low-altitude, high-speed flight envelope tested during the campaign stood out as an important step in validating both the aircraft’s structural resilience and its operational capabilities.

Another major outcome of the campaign was the collection of critical data at supersonic speeds. This data is expected to directly support future engineering work, subsequent flight test phases, and preparations for possible serial production. It also highlights that HÜRJET is evolving beyond being solely a trainer aircraft and is continuing to mature into a high-performance platform capable of meeting the needs of modern air forces.

As one of Türkiye’s prominent indigenous defense aviation programs, HÜRJET represents not only an effort to strengthen pilot training capacity but also a symbol of the country’s advancing technological capabilities in the defense industry. With its modern avionics, ambitious performance goals, and strong domestic engineering foundation, the aircraft is positioned to play an important role in the future of Turkish aviation.
