BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense electronics leader ASELSAN has taken another major step in strengthening the nation’s radar and surveillance capabilities. The company announced via the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it has signed new contracts with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) for the development and delivery of next-generation radar systems, totaling $107,480,950. According to the statement, deliveries under these contracts will take place between 2026 and 2030.
The new-generation radar systems are expected to play a key role in Türkiye’s airspace monitoring, border security, and protection of critical infrastructure, as well as enhancing early warning capabilities against emerging drone and low-altitude threats. ASELSAN’s radar portfolio already includes advanced AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array)-based technologies, known for their modularity, high precision, and ability to integrate seamlessly into multi-layered defense architectures. This latest deal will further modernize the radar inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, reinforcing the country’s independent, indigenous, and adaptive defense infrastructure.
Analysts note that the long-term delivery schedule likely includes multiple radar configurations tailored to evolving operational needs. With the global rise of UAVs, cruise missiles, and asymmetric aerial threats, Türkiye’s investment in locally developed radar technologies ensures a real-time situational awareness network capable of feeding data directly into command-and-control systems. This integration marks a key milestone in the construction of a national, layered air defense shield.
In recent years, ASELSAN’s collaborations with SSB have not only strengthened Türkiye’s defense ecosystem but also expanded its export potential across radar, electronic warfare, and electro-optical domains. The new $107.5 million agreement reflects ASELSAN’s ongoing commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and global competitiveness in advanced defense technologies.
