BREAKING NEWS
Haluk Görgün, President of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), announced that ASELSAN has achieved a significant export success by signing an electronic warfare system contract in Europe valued at more than $400 million. The announcement was made during the HASAT 2025 event held at Teknopark Istanbul, where leading stakeholders of the defense industry gathered with technology entrepreneurs and investors.
Görgün emphasized that Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry continues to break export records, highlighting the sector’s strong momentum in recent years. He noted that numerous successful tests, deliveries, live-fire activities, and first-of-their-kind systems have been completed in a short period, reflecting the maturity and coordination of the national defense ecosystem. According to Görgün, this success is driven by highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated professionals working collaboratively across the sector.
Sharing updated export figures, Görgün stated that defense industry exports have reached $8.6 billion, increasing almost daily. He added that Türkiye now exports defense products and systems to 185 countries, placing the country among the top global defense exporters. With current figures, Türkiye is approaching the top 10 worldwide and is currently ranked around 11th in defense exports.
The electronic warfare system agreement signed by ASELSAN in Europe demonstrates the company’s advanced capabilities in high-technology domains critical to modern warfare. Electronic warfare systems play a vital role in protecting platforms, disrupting adversary communications, and ensuring operational superiority on the battlefield. The contract further strengthens ASELSAN’s position as a trusted supplier in international markets, particularly in Europe.
Görgün also announced that this agreement is part of a broader trend of growing international demand for Turkish defense technologies. He revealed that an even larger export contract signed by another Turkish defense company will be announced to the public in the coming days, signaling that Türkiye’s defense industry export growth is set to continue at an accelerated pace.
