BREAKING NEWS
As unmanned aerial vehicles and especially FPV kamikaze drones continue to reshape modern warfare doctrines, the need for fast, reliable, and cost-effective countermeasures has become more critical than ever. Low-cost yet highly destructive drones have proven capable of threatening armored vehicles, military units, and critical infrastructure, pushing defense industries worldwide to seek new solutions.
Within this context, Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Group) has taken a significant step through its robotics-focused subsidiary UNIROBOTICS. The company has developed a new counter-drone system designed specifically to neutralize mini and micro UAV threats using direct kinetic destruction rather than expensive missile-based air defense systems.
Named TRAKON LITE 134, the system is a remotely operated weapon station (RWS) built around the proven M134 Minigun. Capable of firing up to 3,000 rounds per minute, the Minigun provides an extremely high volume of fire, allowing rapid engagement of fast, agile, and difficult-to-detect drone targets, including FPV attack drones.
Designed in accordance with NATO and U.S. Armed Forces standards, TRAKON LITE 134 features a modular, lightweight, and platform-independent architecture, consistent with the rest of the TRAKON LITE family. Advanced fire control systems and target tracking capabilities enable effective engagement against a wide range of aerial threats, making the system suitable for the protection of military units, critical facilities, and strategic assets.
Recent conflicts have clearly demonstrated that small reconnaissance and kamikaze drones pose a serious and growing threat on the battlefield. TRAKON LITE 134 aims to counter this challenge by offering an economical, fast, and mission-ready solution, avoiding the need to expend costly surface-to-air missiles against low-cost targets. Having completed its qualification processes, the system is now reported to be fully operational and ready for deployment.
