Development of S-70B Seahawk Simulators

About the Project: The HELSİM Project by Havelsan was initiated to simulate the Sikorsky S-70B Seahawk (Sea Hawk) helicopters in the inventory of the Turkish Naval Forces. The project aims to provide training for pilots and operators in a realistic naval mission environment.

Structure of the Simulator: The project offers two separate simulator solutions - one for the front cockpit and another for the rear cabin - to meet the training needs of pilots and operators. These simulators work in an integrated manner, simulating multi-crew missions effectively.

Multi Crew Coordination Training

• Realistic Experience: The simulators provide a realistic environment for Multi Crew Coordination (MCC) training, allowing pilots and operators to develop their coordination and teamwork skills under various scenarios.

Tactical Training Capabilities

• Variety of Scenarios: The simulators offer various tactical training including landing/takeoff on Gabya and Barbaros Class ships, surface warfare, SONAR operations, anti-submarine warfare, guided missile and torpedo launches.
• Link 11 and SAR Training: The simulator also includes special training like the tactical data link, Link 11, and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

Emergency Situation Simulations

• Emergency Scenarios: The simulator tests and trains pilots and operators to handle over 450 emergency/failure situations. These scenarios can be simulated at different stages of the flight.
• System Control: In the simulator, specific systems can be disabled via control panels, adding to the realism and training versatility.

Usage and Delivery

• Delivery and Active Usage: The S-70B Seahawk Simulators were delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces in 2010 and have been actively used since then.
