Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) continues to strengthen not only Türkiye’s aviation capabilities but also the country’s qualified workforce through international education initiatives. As part of an Erasmus plus (Erasmus+) project, students from the Aircraft Maintenance Technology Department of TUSAŞ Şehit Hakan Gülşen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School are currently participating in an internship program in Germany, marking an important step in their professional development.

The internship is taking place at TAI Hamburg in the city of Stade, a facility known for producing and assembling structural aviation components. Running until November 30, the program offers hands-on training for students in two separate groups. Throughout the internship, participants gain firsthand experience in aircraft maintenance, quality control, production planning and engineering processes—fields that form the backbone of the global aerospace industry. By working in an active industrial environment, students are able to apply the theoretical knowledge they received in school to real-world operations.

Beyond technical skills, the Erasmus+ internship contributes significantly to students’ personal development. They learn workplace discipline, adapt to multi-national teamwork environments and improve their foreign language proficiency through daily communication and technical interaction. TUSAŞ officials emphasize that equipping young people with international experience in aviation and space technologies plays a vital role in Türkiye’s long-term aerospace vision.

TUSAŞ Şehit Hakan Gülşen Vocational and Technical High School was established specifically to train the qualified workforce needed by the aerospace sector. The school offers specialized programs in aircraft maintenance, electronics, composite technologies and production systems—creating strong foundations for students who aim to pursue careers within TUSAŞ and the wider aerospace ecosystem. Meanwhile, TAI Hamburg serves as a strategic center representing Turkish engineering strength in Europe and provides a valuable platform for students to experience international industrial standards.

This collaboration between education and industry underscores Türkiye’s growing commitment to nurturing a new generation of aerospace professionals capable of contributing to global aviation technology.
