BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish Armed Forces have strengthened their operational capabilities with the addition of new-generation anti-tank vehicles. Developed under the “Weapon Carrier Vehicles Project,” the Kaplan and Pars systems have officially entered service, providing a decisive advantage against armored threats on the battlefield.
Kaplan has been designed as a tracked vehicle, while Pars comes in a wheeled configuration. Both platforms are armed with the Medium-Range Anti-Tank Missile System (OMTAS). Thanks to precision-guided missile integration, Kaplan and Pars can effectively neutralize tanks and armored targets, while also fulfilling roles in reconnaissance, surveillance, and command-and-control missions.
Engineered to adapt to challenging terrains, these vehicles can operate across rough landscapes, waterlogged areas, and snowy environments, giving the Turkish Armed Forces enhanced flexibility in diverse geographies. Their locally developed and nationally produced design highlights Türkiye’s increasing self-reliance in defense technologies.
The project aims for the production of a total of 260 Kaplan and Pars vehicles. Serial deliveries began last year, and the ongoing induction of these platforms continues to expand Türkiye’s modern land warfare capabilities. This achievement not only showcases the technological strength of the Turkish defense industry but also reinforces the effectiveness of the Turkish Armed Forces in future combat environments.
