BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has achieved another historic milestone in its pursuit of defense and aviation independence. Under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and developed by TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI), the TF6000 turbofan aircraft engine was successfully tested. As the first military turbofan engine in Türkiye’s history, TF6000 represents a turning point in the nation’s aerospace capabilities.
The TF6000 has been designed to power Türkiye’s next-generation air platforms, most notably the National Combat Aircraft KAAN. Featuring all the core attributes of a real military turbofan engine, it is also expected to be integrated into other key projects, including the KIZILELMA unmanned fighter aircraft and the ANKA-3 unmanned aerial vehicle. With this achievement, Türkiye has taken a critical step toward self-sufficiency in engine technologies for defense applications.
Professor Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of Defense Industries, announced the success via social media, expressing gratitude to the engineers and technicians who contributed to the project. He underlined that the TF6000 program is not just a technical success but also a strategic move toward greater technological independence for Türkiye.
The TF6000 and its more powerful counterpart, the TF10000, will not only advance Türkiye’s aerospace and defense capabilities but also provide wider benefits such as strengthening the domestic supplier ecosystem, enhancing engineering expertise, and building a highly skilled workforce. Through these programs, Türkiye is reducing its dependency on foreign technologies while positioning itself as a significant player in advanced aircraft engine development.
