BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s innovative defense industry steps are drawing international attention, with Greek media closely analyzing the modernization of the Turkish Navy’s submarine fleet and advancements in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The upgrade of the Preveze and GÜR-class submarines with indigenous systems is expected to significantly enhance Türkiye’s operational capabilities at sea, widening the defense capability gap between Türkiye and Greece.
Reports also emphasized Türkiye’s long-term naval ambitions. By 2030, Türkiye aims to operate 16 modern or modernized frigates, construct a larger aircraft carrier following the TCG Anadolu, and build 18 submarines along with four corvettes. These projects are seen as strategic moves to bolster Türkiye’s maritime deterrence and strengthen its naval dominance in the region.
Meanwhile, UAV advancements are also at the center of attention. The Bayraktar AKINCI C has successfully completed test flights, proving its capability to strike naval targets with precision. Greek media highlighted that these achievements showcase Türkiye’s rapid progress in UAV technologies, further enhancing its aerial superiority and providing a strategic edge in the region.
Türkiye’s modernization efforts reflect its commitment to domestic and national defense technologies. By advancing both naval and aerial capabilities, the country is not only enhancing its national security but also consolidating its position as a regional leader with growing independence in the defense industry.
