Turkey’s defense industry has achieved another milestone by presenting its newly developed miniature electronic warfare (EW) systems on the international stage. EHSİM Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering Inc. showcased its compact, lightweight, and expendable EW solutions for the first time at Egypt’s prominent defense exhibition, EDEX 2025, held in Cairo. Designed for integration into jet aircraft as well as mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles, these systems drew considerable attention for their portability and operational efficiency.
EHSİM General Manager Fatih Say emphasized that Türkiye has written a remarkable success story over the past two decades, increasing its defense industry localization rate to nearly 90 percent. He noted that regional countries, inspired by Türkiye’s model, are now shifting from being mere buyers to seeking ways to develop their own technologies. According to Say, EDEX 2025 provides a valuable platform for fostering new cooperation opportunities in this direction.
Highlighting that electronic warfare capability is typically reserved for the world’s most powerful militaries, Say explained that EHSİM adopts a different approach by developing not only large and costly systems but also cost-effective, user-friendly miniature solutions. These compact systems allow rapid defensive or offensive electronic warfare actions without requiring extensive training, making them attractive for a wide range of operators.
Say also underlined that their newly developed self-protection systems can now safeguard not only fighter aircraft but also valuable unmanned platforms. Among the showcased technologies was the miniature jamming system “JINN,” designed for short-range deception and jamming missions. He added that Türkiye’s strong presence at global exhibitions, including over 80 participating companies at EDEX, demonstrates the country’s emergence as a growing global player in the defense sector.
