BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense and aerospace industry has maintained its strong growth momentum in 2025, achieving nearly $3 billion in exports during the first five months of the year. According to data shared by Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), exports rose by 29% compared to the same period last year, reaching $2.98 billion. This surge positions the sector as one of the key contributors to Turkey’s total exports and underscores its rising global competitiveness.
In a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Görgün noted that the number of exporting companies is steadily increasing, while the product portfolio is shifting toward higher-technology solutions. “Our export composition is evolving in favor of advanced technology products,” Görgün said, emphasizing that Turkish defense firms are no longer limited to platform exports but are also selling high-value systems such as munitions, electronic warfare solutions, communication systems, and modernization packages.
Görgün also underlined the impact of the Defense Industry Agency’s continuous international cooperation efforts, stating that Turkish companies are now exporting to all corners of the world rather than being confined to specific regions. He added that both large-scale corporations and SMEs are actively contributing to this global expansion, making exports a key sustainability indicator for the entire defense ecosystem.
Highlighting that the defense and aerospace sector now accounts for more than 3% of Turkey’s total exports, Görgün congratulated the “defense family” for its collective success. This growth trend reflects Turkey’s increasing self-sufficiency and its goal of becoming a global defense exporter. With upcoming projects in unmanned systems, naval technologies, advanced munitions, and next-generation aircraft, experts expect Turkey’s defense exports to surpass new milestones in the coming years.
