BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) continue to strengthen operational capabilities and field security by adding new domestically developed defense industry products to its inventory. Within this scope, ASELSAN’s YENER Mine/Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Detection Vehicle has officially entered service with the Land Forces Command. The development, announced at the Ministry of National Defense’s weekly press briefing, is regarded as a critical step toward safer and more effective operations in the field.
YENER stands out with its ability to visualize underground structures in both 2D and 3D with high resolution. It is capable of detecting and identifying metallic and non-metallic objects, IEDs, hidden cables, and multiple targets simultaneously. The system is compatible with an integrated EMI Sensor and can automatically adapt to diverse geographical conditions. Another significant advantage is that YENER can operate effectively even while on the move, offering superior flexibility during missions.
Designed to be integrated not only into armored vehicles but also into unmanned ground vehicles, YENER provides adaptable solutions for a wide range of operational scenarios. Its inclusion in the TAF inventory is expected to significantly enhance soldier safety and reduce the risks posed by mines and improvised explosive devices on the battlefield.
The induction of YENER highlights Türkiye’s ongoing progress in defense technology and self-sufficiency. Developed entirely with national resources by ASELSAN, the system reinforces Türkiye’s independence in the defense sector and showcases the country’s growing technological capabilities to the world.
