The President of Turkey's Defense Industry Agency, Haluk Görgün, emphasized at the Turkish-German Economic Conference that streamlining export control procedures will deepen defense sector cooperation between the two nations. Görgün noted that over 4,000 Turkish defense companies are prepared to collaborate with German partners.

Defense Industry Agency Chief Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün stated that localization efforts in defense projects begin at the original design phase and extend to the production of critical materials. Turkey's localization rate has increased from 20% to 83% over the past two decades.

ASELSAN and the Defense Industry Agency signed additional contracts worth a total of 1 billion 8 million 500 thousand euros for the Long-Range Air Defense System serial production projects.

The Defense Industry Agency announced that the SIPER 2 long-range air and missile defense system successfully destroyed a maneuvering target. The system operates at greater range and altitude compared to SIPER 1.

ASELSAN has signed a €1.65 billion contract with Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) for the procurement of advanced air defense systems. Deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2031.

Turkey’s defense and aviation exports rose by 54% in April 2025, reaching $539 million. Between January and April, exports grew by 67% to $2.238 billion, marking a new milestone for the sector.
