BREAKING NEWS
Turkey has taken another significant step in strengthening its military logistics infrastructure through domestically produced railway systems. Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that 9 ZACENS-type tank wagons manufactured by TÜRASAŞ have been officially delivered to the Ministry of National Defense.
The tank wagons were produced at the TÜRASAŞ Sivas Regional Directorate using national and local capabilities. Designed specifically for military use, the ZACENS-type wagons will be employed in fuel supply operations and within NATO POL (Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants) facilities. These wagons will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted transport and storage of fuel and other liquid materials required for military operations.
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that TÜRASAŞ has expanded its production capacity beyond civilian rail transportation and has become a key contributor to Turkey’s defense industry. Following the successful production of UAIS-type military tank carrier wagons, the delivery of ZACENS-type tank wagons further enhances the logistical strength of the Turkish Armed Forces. The wagons are expected to significantly improve energy transportation capabilities and operational readiness.
Developed in compliance with international standards, the ZACENS-type tank wagons are engineered to provide maximum safety during the transportation and storage of fuel. Minister Uraloğlu noted that these domestically developed railway vehicles aim not only to support intercity transportation but also to meet the critical operational requirements of the military. He added that local and national solutions such as these wagons will help establish a resilient and uninterrupted supply chain in military logistics while reducing foreign dependency.
