Türkiye has introduced another milestone project in its quest for defense independence. The MERTER Backpack Tactical Field Electronic Attack System, jointly developed by the Presidency of Defense Industries and Meteksan, has been successfully deployed. Designed and produced entirely with national resources and technologies, MERTER strengthens Türkiye’s strategic autonomy in the field of defense.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defense Industries, emphasized in a social media statement that MERTER gives security forces a critical advantage on the battlefield. The system is capable of blocking enemy communications within the combat band, thereby ensuring operational superiority for Türkiye’s forces in the field.
Designed to meet a wide range of operational needs, MERTER can be used in both stationary configurations and by mobile units on the move. Equipped with high-gain antennas, the system delivers powerful electronic attack capabilities and can be easily operated through a smart tablet or computer interface.
Another key feature of MERTER is its dual power option: it can operate both on battery power and through the city grid, providing flexibility and reliability in diverse operational environments. With this system, Türkiye continues to enhance its electronic warfare capabilities, showcasing the growing role of indigenous technologies in national defense.
