BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish Gendarmerie General Command has shared remarkable footage showcasing the agility and precision of the ATAK attack helicopter, one of Turkey’s most advanced domestically produced combat platforms. The short video, posted on the Gendarmerie’s official social media account, was recorded using a camera mounted directly on the helicopter’s gun barrel, offering a unique first-person perspective rarely seen outside of simulation environments.
In the accompanying caption, the statement read: “This is not a computer game — it’s our ATAK helicopter itself. With the camera we mounted on the gun barrel, we captured breathtaking footage. Would you like to witness these thrilling moments?” The cinematic-style video shows the ATAK performing sharp maneuvers, low-altitude flight, and target alignment sequences, giving viewers the sensation of being inside the cockpit.
The ATAK helicopter, jointly developed by TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) and ASELSAN, is actively used by the Turkish Gendarmerie and Armed Forces for counterterrorism, border security, close air support, and reconnaissance missions. The new footage highlights not only the aircraft’s operational capabilities but also the technological sophistication of Turkey’s indigenous defense industry.
This visually striking release quickly gained traction on social media, where defense enthusiasts and citizens alike praised the imagery. Analysts note that such engaging visuals serve to increase public awareness and pride in Turkey’s locally produced air combat platforms, especially among younger audiences.
