BREAKING NEWS
ROKETSAN has passed another major milestone in Türkiye’s defense industrial expansion, marking a significant increase in both production capacity and strategic infrastructure. During a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the company’s Lalahan campus in Ankara, three new production facilities were officially opened and the foundation was laid for an additional plant. At the same event, serial production deliveries were carried out for around 20 different products and munitions, including the TAYFUN ballistic missile, SİPER and HİSAR air defense systems, and the KARA ATMACA land-attack cruise missile. The event underscored not only the scale of ROKETSAN’s investment program, but also the company’s growing role in delivering operational systems directly to the field.
Speaking at the ceremony, Presidency of Defence Industries head Haluk Görgün stated that every facility opened, every delivery completed, and every foundation laid reflects the determined rise of Türkiye’s defense industry. He emphasized that the newly commissioned sites represent a new phase for ROKETSAN across production, integration, testing, and advanced engineering. According to Görgün, the facilities opened as part of the program will create an additional 2,000 jobs, while the Lalahan Missile Integration Facilities are expected to generate another 1,300 positions. This, he noted, highlights the defense sector not only as a strategic industrial base, but also as a major engine for highly qualified human capital development.
The list of systems delivered during the event demonstrated the breadth of ROKETSAN’s operational portfolio. Among the delivered products were TAYFUN, SİPER, ATMACA, HİSAR-A, HİSAR-O, SUNGUR, KARA ATMACA, ÇAKIR, SOM, MAM-L, MAM-C, MAM-T, TEBER, OMTAS, L-OMTAS, CİRİT, LUMTAS, KARAOK, İHA-230, and T107/122 multiple launch rocket munitions. Görgün underlined in particular that HİSAR and SİPER form the backbone of Türkiye’s layered air defense architecture. Taken together, these deliveries show that ROKETSAN’s product family now spans ballistic and cruise missiles, air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, guided rockets, and smart munitions for both manned and unmanned platforms.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci also drew attention to the scale of the company’s new investments. He stated that the total value of the facilities inaugurated exceeds $1 billion, and that with the newly launched construction projects, the overall investment scale will rise to around $2 billion. İkinci added that the Lalahan campus will host what he described as Europe’s largest warhead production facility, alongside an advanced R&D and engineering building with capacity for 1,000 personnel. He also said that the new missile integration facility will enable the production capacity of systems such as SİPER, HİSAR, and TAYFUN to increase by five times, a figure that points to a major acceleration in serial manufacturing capability.
Another strategic aspect of these investments lies in reducing dependence on foreign supply chains. According to Görgün, the new production infrastructure will strengthen continuity and resilience in the defense sector, particularly in the areas of explosives and critical raw materials, while also creating a stronger domestic base against potential embargo risks. In this broader sense, the Lalahan ceremony was not simply about opening new buildings. It represented a structural shift toward higher-volume missile, munition, and air defense production in Türkiye. With expanded industrial capacity, increased employment, and a wider delivery tempo, ROKETSAN is positioning itself as one of the central pillars of the country’s long-term strategic deterrence and indigenous defense manufacturing drive.
