BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense industry has taken another major step in unmanned ground systems with the development of the HANÇER UGV. Created under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries and with the joint expertise of four companies, this innovative vehicle has successfully completed its testing phase and has now entered serial production. Soon to join the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory, HANÇER is designed to provide security forces with a strong advantage in the field.
The vehicle is equipped with ASELSAN’s SARP remote-controlled weapon system, allowing integration of both machine guns and automatic grenade launchers. This capability enables HANÇER to operate as an effective unmanned combat support unit, minimizing risks for soldiers during dangerous missions.
HANÇER stands out with its advanced mobility, capable of overcoming 60% steep slopes, 30% side slopes, and crossing ditches up to 60 cm wide. Powered by two electric motors, it offers 4 hours of continuous driving and up to 6 hours of operational endurance, while recharging in just 3 hours. These features ensure reliable performance even in the toughest terrains.
The UGV is expected to play a vital role in urban operations, entering risky areas ahead of soldiers to secure environments. With interest already coming from the Middle East, HANÇER also shows strong potential for use in large cave operations. Developed by a dedicated team of 35 engineers and experts, the vehicle continues to undergo live-fire testing, further enhancing its combat readiness. HANÇER represents a significant addition to Türkiye’s defense industry, strengthening the operational capabilities of its armed forces in modern battlefields.
