BREAKING NEWS
The FPV drone SAGAN, one of the latest innovations of the Turkish defense industry, has become fully operational with newly enhanced capabilities shaped by real field requirements. Developed by ASİSGUARD, a subsidiary of HAVELSAN, SAGAN is designed to perform effectively in both attack and reconnaissance missions. Inspired by the sharp-eyed and agile magpie bird, the system was first introduced last year and has since undergone significant improvements.
As part of the SAGAN product family, a comprehensive capability demonstration was conducted with the participation of representatives from various security institutions. During the event, three different FPV drone platforms—15-inch, 10-inch and 7-inch—were showcased in realistic operational scenarios. All demonstration flights were completed successfully, highlighting the system’s high speed, maneuverability and operational reliability.
One of the most remarkable achievements during the demonstration was the 20-kilometer uninterrupted FPV flight conducted via a fiber-optic cable. Throughout the mission, no signal loss or interruption occurred, and the drone safely returned to its launch point after completing the task. This capability clearly demonstrated SAGAN’s effectiveness in environments heavily affected by electronic jamming, ensuring reliable mission execution under challenging battlefield conditions.
The event also featured locally designed day and thermal gimbal camera systems developed entirely with national resources. High-altitude thermal imagery captured during the flight was transmitted live to participants. Additionally, SAGAN’s low radar visibility and strong resistance to electronic warfare stood out as key operational advantages. With its FPV drone and imaging solutions, ASİSGUARD aims to enhance the operational capabilities of security forces while meeting the needs of allied and friendly nations.
