BREAKING NEWS
Turkey has once again proven its rising power in the global defense arena as five of its leading defense firms were included in the prestigious Defense News Top 100 list for 2025. According to the report, ASELSAN ranked 43rd with a defense revenue of 3.54 billion dollars, followed by TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) at 47th, Roketsan at 71st, ASFAT at 78th, and MKE (Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation) at 80th. All five companies successfully maintained their presence from last year, with several showing remarkable upward progress.
ASFAT made one of the most notable leaps, climbing 16 places from 94th to 78th, while TUSAŞ rose from 50th to 47th. ASELSAN, despite a minor shift from 42nd to 43rd, remains Turkey’s top defense exporter and technological leader. Roketsan preserved its 71st place, and MKE advanced from 84th to 80th, reflecting steady growth across the industry. The strong showing highlights the increasing impact of Turkey’s indigenous defense capabilities spanning land, air, naval, and missile systems.
The top 10 of the list is dominated by U.S. defense giants, with six companies from the United States, two from China, and one each from the United Kingdom and France. Lockheed Martin retained the top position with $68.39 billion in defense revenue, followed by RTX and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. Other companies in the top 10 include Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, BAE Systems, Boeing, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, L3Harris Technologies, and Thales. Overall, the United States leads with 48 companies on the list, while Turkey, France, and China each have five representatives.
The consistent rise of Turkish defense firms reflects the nation’s growing focus on self-reliance, innovation, and global competitiveness. ASELSAN’s advanced electronics and avionic systems, TUSAŞ’s aircraft and UAV programs, Roketsan’s missile and rocket technologies, ASFAT’s shipbuilding capabilities, and MKE’s modernization in ammunition and firearms production collectively strengthen Turkey’s position as a permanent player in the global defense league. As indigenous production, export diversification, and technological depth expand, Turkey’s defense industry appears poised to climb even higher in the years ahead.
