BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN brought its latest short-range air defense innovation, KORKUT 100/25, to the international stage at DSEI 2025 in London. Introduced publicly for the first time outside Türkiye, the system was presented mounted on Nurol Makina’s EJDER YALÇIN 4x4 tactical armored vehicle, highlighting a mobile configuration optimized for both static base protection and the defense of maneuvering forces in the field. ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol emphasized that KORKUT 100/25 represents a forward step in near-air defense and that development of new systems for the national layered defense architecture ÇELİKKUBBE will continue.
KORKUT 100/25 is specifically engineered to detect, track and defeat mini and micro-UAV threats. At its core the system uses ASELSAN’s 25 mm ATOM Smart Ammunition, designed for programmable effects and effective fragmentation against small, low-observable targets and swarming drones. The weapon suite is supported by a high-resolution infrared camera, laser rangefinder, automatic target detection and tracking, and advanced automatic ballistic computation — all enabling rapid engagement with high first-round hit probability. Remote control capability increases operator safety and allows the system to be operated from protected stand-off positions.
Platform flexibility is a key feature: KORKUT 100/25 can be integrated on 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 wheeled vehicles or tracked chassis, giving commanders options across terrain and mission sets. Mounted on the EJDER YALÇIN during the exhibition, the configuration benefits from the vehicle’s high protection level, cross-country mobility and payload capacity, enabling quick redeployment and sustained operations. This mobility makes the system suitable not only for fixed installations and bases but also for convoy protection and the air defense of maneuver elements.
Operationally, KORKUT 100/25 fills a critical gap in close air defense by providing a low-cost, kinetic counter to proliferating small UAV threats while integrating with broader electronic and sensor networks. ASELSAN positions the system as a complementary layer within ÇELİKKUBBE’s multi-tiered air defense concept and highlights its strong export potential to partners seeking mobile, cost-effective drone countermeasures. The company’s DSEI presentation aimed to demonstrate both the technical maturity of KORKUT 100/25 and its applicability across modern battlefield scenarios.
