BREAKING NEWS
Anadolu Isuzu has expanded its presence in the defense sector under the “Anadolu Defence” brand, introducing the highly anticipated “Seyit” military truck family at IDEF 2019. Developed by Turkish engineers at the company’s R&D Center, this new range of heavy-duty military vehicles reflects Anadolu Isuzu’s goal of elevating its long-standing defense industry experience into higher segments. At the exhibition, the company showcased its 8x8 tank transporter, 8x8 and 4x4 tactical wheeled vehicles, as well as an 8x8 recovery vehicle produced with Anadolu Isuzu infrastructure and displayed at the MPG stand. These models aim to secure a strong presence not only in the domestic market but also in international defense markets
General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan emphasized that Anadolu Isuzu has been known in the sector for its armored pick-ups and armored midibuses, but the Seyit family elevates their capabilities to a new class. Highlighting the vehicles’ high performance, reliability and cost-effective operation, Arıkan noted that the Seyit lineup is designed especially for demanding users such as the Turkish Armed Forces. He added that the localization rate of the vehicles continues to increase each year, with a target of surpassing 70 percent in the near future.
Named after the legendary Çanakkale War hero Seyit Onbaşı, the Seyit military truck family was developed through a partnership between Anadolu Defence and the Czech Tatra Group. While the structural platform receives support from Tatra, the armored cab and overall vehicle design were created entirely by Turkish engineers. Built to operate efficiently in harsh terrain and extreme environments, the Seyit series can be produced in a wide range of configurations—from 8x8 to 20x20—offering various engine options to meet different operational needs.
With the launch of the Seyit family, Anadolu Defence aims to strengthen its position in the defense industry and expand its footprint across international markets where the company already operates through its distributors. Designed for all-terrain mobility and modern military requirements, the Seyit truck family stands as a significant step forward in Turkey’s pursuit of advanced, locally developed military logistics solutions.
