BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense industry has reached a historic milestone by achieving its first jet engine export, a testament to years of investment in indigenous propulsion technologies. During the LAAD Defense and Security Exhibition held in Brazil, Kale Jet Motorları, a subsidiary of the Kale Group, signed an export contract with the Brazilian defense company SIATT for the sale and supply of the KTJ-3200 Turbojet Missile Engine.
The KTJ-3200 represents one of Turkey’s most advanced technological achievements — a fully indigenous turbojet engine designed and produced to power long-range cruise missiles. With a diameter of 330 mm, a weight of 50 kg, and a thrust capacity of up to 3,200 newtons, the KTJ-3200 delivers the sustained power needed for low-altitude, long-range flight profiles typical of modern cruise missiles. The engine currently powers Turkey’s SOM and ATMACA missiles, providing them with a completely domestic propulsion solution and eliminating foreign dependency in this critical domain.
According to Kale Jet Motorları, the KTJ-3200 is not a prototype but a serially produced, field-proven system already integrated into Turkish missile platforms. Its successful export marks a new phase in Turkey’s defense industry — shifting from exporting platforms like UAVs and missiles to exporting core propulsion technologies, which are among the most complex and sensitive components of modern weapon systems.
This milestone also signals Turkey’s growing recognition as a capable developer of aerospace propulsion systems. The export of a jet engine — a product that requires advanced materials science, precision manufacturing, and high-performance control software — demonstrates Turkey’s ability to produce world-class defense technologies. Kale Jet Motorları continues to build on the KTJ-3200’s success, developing new families of turbojet and turbofan engines for future unmanned systems and missile applications.
Ultimately, this agreement signed at LAAD 2025 establishes Turkey not only as a producer of indigenous missile systems but also as a country that exports jet propulsion technology — a strategic breakthrough that will strengthen its position in the global defense industry.
