BREAKING NEWS
The government of Mali has officially announced the Bamako Expo (BAMEX) 2025, the first defense and security exhibition featuring leading Turkish defense industry companies. Scheduled to take place in Bamako from November 11 to 14, the event aims to showcase Türkiye’s growing defense industry presence in Africa. Major firms such as Baykar, ASELSAN, and MKE are expected to participate, presenting advanced defense technologies and innovative solutions tailored for African security needs.
During a press conference at the International Conference Center of Bamako, Mali’s Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Major General Daoud Aly Mohammedine, emphasized that BAMEX is more than a defense exhibition — it is a symbol of deepening strategic ties between Türkiye and Mali. “BAMEX will highlight our Turkish partners’ strategic contributions in security and defense, combining international expertise with cutting-edge innovation,” said the minister. He also underscored Mali’s role in promoting peace, security, and stability across the African continent.
Amadou Degueni, President of the BAMEX National Organizing Committee, noted that the exhibition marks a new chapter for Africa in strengthening its defense capabilities and asserting its strategic independence. “Africa is entering a new era where it will define its own security future,” said Degueni, adding that around 30 Turkish defense firms will present their products to official delegations, defense professionals, and the wider public.
Alaattin Doğru, Corporate Communications Director of BAMEX, stated that the fair will be organized under the auspices of the Presidency of Mali and the Ministry of Civil Security, by the Turkish company Prontaron Defense Industry Organization and Foreign Trade Ltd. (The Peak Defense). He highlighted that Türkiye has become not only a political and economic partner but also a trusted defense ally in Africa. Turkish companies will exhibit a wide range of products — from land, air, and naval systems to advanced electronic solutions — reflecting the technological maturity of Türkiye’s defense sector.
As BAMEX 2025 approaches, Africa is preparing to welcome Türkiye’s defense innovation and expertise. The event is expected to further cement Türkiye’s strategic footprint across the continent, paving the way for stronger and more sustainable defense partnerships between Türkiye and African nations.
