Turkey’s defense and aerospace sector continues to shine on the global stage as the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) announced the country’s top exporters for 2024. According to official data, the top ten companies driving Turkey’s defense exports were Baykar, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), ASFAT, Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE), ARCA Defense, TUSAŞ Engine Industries, ASELSAN, RAM Foreign Trade (Otokar), ROKETSAN, and Samsun Yurt Defense (SYS).
Leading the list, Baykar achieved $1.8 billion in exports, maintaining its position as Turkey’s largest defense exporter. Baykar was followed by TUSAŞ with $750 million, ASFAT with $644 million, MKE with $610 million, ARCA Defense with $600 million, and TUSAŞ Engine Industries with $390 million. ASELSAN recorded $217 million, RAM (Otokar) $193 million, ROKETSAN $179 million, and Samsun Yurt Defense $166 million in exports. These figures exclude service revenues and other non-export sales.
SSB President Haluk Görgün shared a statement on social media platform X, expressing pride in the sector’s achievements. “The success belongs to all of us, and the pride is Turkey’s. These companies represent our collective intelligence, synergy, and innovation culture within the defense industry,” he said. Görgün also thanked the 92,000-strong defense industry workforce and all subcontractors contributing to Turkey’s domestic and national production efforts.
Highlighting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision as the cornerstone of Turkey’s defense transformation, Görgün added: “With his leadership, Turkey has become a global brand on the path toward full defense independence. We will continue working toward even greater goals and a stronger Turkey.”
In 2024, Turkey reached historic highs in defense and aerospace exports, fueled by technological advances and globally competitive products. With Baykar’s UAVs, TUSAŞ’s aircraft platforms, ASELSAN’s electronic systems, and ROKETSAN’s missile technologies, the Turkish defense industry continues to position itself as a powerful global player.
