The MQ-9A Reaper fleet in the U.S. Air Force inventory has declined to approximately 135 unmanned aerial vehicles. The fleet dropped from 351 aircraft reported in fiscal year 2022, due to accidents, combat losses, and planned retirements. With the production line currently closed and restart requiring 2-3 years, the service faces significant constraints in spare platform production capacity.
