BREAKING NEWS
STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret AŞ has unveiled its new KUZGUN Long-Range Kamikaze UAV System, carrying its experience in unmanned systems to a strategic level. Developed in response to the growing need for long-range, cost-effective and high-impact strike UAVs on the modern battlefield, KUZGUN stands out as a next-generation capability that could change the balance in deep operational areas. The system has completed its design phases and successfully conducted its first flights, with footage shared publicly for the first time.
KUZGUN was developed to perform effective missions against strategic targets with its range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, endurance of up to 6 hours and high-explosive warhead. Through this system, STM aims to provide Türkiye with a domestically developed solution in the field of long-range kamikaze UAVs. The platform is designed to be used against high-value targets such as command centers, air defense elements, radar systems and critical facilities located behind enemy lines, making it an important force multiplier in deep-strike operations.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that global and regional crises have once again demonstrated the decisive role of long-range and cost-effective strike systems on the battlefield. He emphasized that STM aims to take Türkiye’s strategic deterrence to a higher level with KUZGUN. Equipped with national software, the system is designed to operate with high accuracy even in challenging geographies thanks to its electronic warfare-resistant navigation architecture and low-altitude flight capability.
KUZGUN was designed to operate without the need for runway infrastructure. The system can take off from mobile ground platforms or fixed launchers using rocket-assisted take-off, significantly increasing operational flexibility. This feature enables rapid deployment to different areas and allows the platform to conduct missions from unprepared sites. Developed for cross-border operations and strikes against targets behind enemy lines, KUZGUN aims to offer high survivability through its aerodynamic structure and low radar signature.
One of the system’s most critical features is its ability to operate in electronic warfare environments. Optimized for conflict zones where intense GNSS jamming may occur, KUZGUN increases mission reliability with its jamming-resistant navigation architecture. The platform can perform fully autonomous flight based on pre-defined routes and target data, and can engage targets through GNSS-supported precision coordinate dive capability. This enables effective operations even in complex and high-threat environments.
With a total take-off weight of 200 kilograms, KUZGUN can operate at a mission altitude of 3,500 meters. Its 6-hour flight duration and range of over 1,000 kilometers allow the platform to conduct rapid and effective attacks against distant targets. Designed for strategic operations with its high-destructive-power munition, KUZGUN is positioned as a notable solution for users seeking low-cost deep-strike capability.
STM’s decision to exhibit KUZGUN for the first time at SAHA 2026 highlights the Turkish defense industry’s new ambitions in unmanned systems. Having gained significant field experience with tactical mini UAV systems, STM is transforming this knowledge into a long-range platform capable of creating strategic effects. KUZGUN demonstrates Türkiye’s progress in autonomous strike UAV technologies and is expected to play an important role in future deep operations, deterrence missions and cost-effective strike concepts.
