BREAKING NEWS
One of Türkiye’s leading defense companies, ROKETSAN, is presenting its underwater defense capabilities at UDT 2026 in London. Recognized as one of the world’s key events for undersea defense technologies, the Undersea Defence Technology Conference & Exhibition is bringing together military delegations, industry professionals, and decision-makers from April 14 to 16, 2026. Through its participation, ROKETSAN aims not only to display its current products but also to open the door to new international cooperation opportunities.
At the center of the company’s presentation are two major systems: the ORKA Next-Generation Lightweight Torpedo and the AKYA Next-Generation Heavyweight Torpedo. These two products highlight the level Türkiye has reached in underwater warfare capability. While ORKA stands out as a flexible and modern lightweight solution, AKYA represents the heavy-strike dimension of Turkish naval power in the heavyweight torpedo class. Displaying both systems at the same event underlines ROKETSAN’s intention to promote its expanding underwater defense portfolio more strongly to the international market.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci also emphasized the strategic importance of UDT 2026, noting that the London event offers a highly valuable opportunity to engage with global stakeholders across complementary areas of defense technology. He stated that the exhibition is not merely a venue for displaying products, but also an important platform for evaluating technology transfer, joint production, and sustainable defense partnerships. Meetings with decision-makers from Europe and other regions are expected to further strengthen ROKETSAN’s global business network.
ROKETSAN’s presence at UDT 2026 also reflects Türkiye’s broader effort to increase its visibility in naval defense not only through platforms, but also through munitions and underwater strike systems. At a time when defense cooperation, joint production, and supply security are becoming increasingly important in Europe, the company’s decision to appear in London with AKYA and ORKA stands out as a significant move. It shows that ROKETSAN is aiming not only to supply products to friendly and allied nations, but also to establish longer-term industrial partnerships.
In the broader picture, ROKETSAN’s participation in UDT 2026 serves as an important showcase for the technological level reached by the Turkish defense industry in submarine defense and underwater warfare. By presenting systems such as AKYA and ORKA in London, Türkiye is demonstrating that it is becoming a more assertive player not only in land and air defense, but also in torpedo and undersea combat technologies. If these contacts turn into concrete agreements in the coming period, ROKETSAN’s influence in Europe and other markets may grow even further.
