BREAKING NEWS
The PNS Khaibar, one of the four corvettes built under the PN MİLGEM Project, has demonstrated exceptional performance during live-fire exercises. Developed as part of the defense cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan, the project stands as a major milestone in the growing partnership between the two countries’ naval industries. Led by ASFAT as the main contractor, the project involves the construction of four MİLGEM-class corvettes — two in Türkiye’s Istanbul Naval Shipyard and two at Karachi’s KSEW Shipyard.
HAVELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defense technology companies, plays a critical role in the project by providing the ADVENT Combat Management System and FLEETSTAR Data Distribution System. Acting as the main systems integrator, HAVELSAN ensures operational effectiveness and technological reliability across the fleet. Following the successful completion of PNS Babur’s trials in April 2024, the second ship, PNS Khaibar, has now completed its live-fire tests with remarkable results.
During these tests, PNS Khaibar achieved direct hits on sea, land, and air targets, confirming the platform’s precision and integration success. The corvette struck land targets with its 76mm main gun, achieving pinpoint accuracy, and replicated that performance using the STOP 25mm remote-controlled stabilized weapon system. These achievements highlight the technological maturity and operational readiness of the MİLGEM-class warships.
Meanwhile, preparations for the third ship, PNS Badr, are ongoing at the Karachi shipyard, with its first sea trials expected in December 2025. The fourth and final ship, PNS Tariq, is currently under construction and is expected to begin testing by the end of 2026. Beyond its military significance, the PN MİLGEM Project solidifies Türkiye’s position as a global naval technology provider and deepens defense ties with Pakistan.
