Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) is preparing for a landmark appearance at the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), where it will unveil new-generation weapon systems and announce Türkiye’s first-ever naval gun export. MKE Deputy General Manager Tolga Çelik stated that the company will not only present new products at the fair but also demonstrate its strategic transformation and improved production processes. While the buyer country for the naval gun export remains undisclosed due to confidentiality, this marks a historic milestone for Türkiye’s defense exports.
One of the highlights of MKE’s showcase will be the debut of the PİRANA unmanned surface vehicle (USV), which will be introduced to domestic and international stakeholders for the first time. The company will also launch a range of cutting-edge systems, including semi-automatic sniper rifles, turret-integrated weapon systems, drone technologies, and smart drone munitions. In addition, MKE will present new-generation heavy-caliber ammunition propulsion systems, drone munitions and UAV fuzes, and an expanded kamikaze drone family, reflecting the company’s diversification into autonomous and intelligent warfare solutions.
According to Çelik, MKE will demonstrate an indigenous layered drone defense system, developed as an integrated local solution to emerging aerial threats. Drawing on 75 years of mass production experience and feedback from operational users, MKE’s naval weapon systems have been optimized for superior firepower, reliability, and precision. These innovations offer tactical advantages through improved targeting, corrosion resistance, and ease of integration on naval platforms.
MKE will attend IDEF 2025 under the slogan “Power Redefined: We’re Here to Break the Mold,” underscoring its ambition to reshape defense technology through innovation and partnerships. Çelik also announced that MKE will sign several new agreements with allies from three different continents, further expanding Türkiye’s defense industry footprint. The event will therefore not only mark a milestone for MKE’s technological evolution but also reinforce the company’s position as a global defense supplier with growing export capabilities.
