BREAKING NEWS
The KarguFPV, developed by STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret AŞ, has achieved another significant milestone in Türkiye’s expanding unmanned systems capabilities. Previously tested with an anti-personnel warhead, the drone has now demonstrated its enhanced firepower by carrying out its first explosive test with an armor-piercing warhead. In this initial trial, KarguFPV precisely targeted and successfully penetrated the armor of a designated vehicle, proving the effectiveness of its upgraded payload configuration.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz emphasized the company’s commitment to developing technologies that will shape the battlefield of the future. Highlighting the integration of autonomy, image processing and artificial intelligence into FPV-based systems, Güleryüz stated that the successful test marks Türkiye’s first domestically developed FPV drone equipped with an armor-piercing warhead. He added that STM will continue delivering adaptable and national solutions tailored to evolving combat environments.
Designed to provide strong deterrence against dynamic threats in asymmetric warfare, the KarguFPV offers real-time operator-controlled visuals, enabling precise engagement against enemy elements. Equipped with anti-personnel or armor-piercing warheads, the drone enhances operational flexibility. Its high maneuverability, low radar signature and capability to operate effectively day or night enable accurate strikes on both stationary and moving targets. The system’s fiber-optic communication link also allows it to operate without being affected by electronic jamming, offering secure navigation and targeting independent of GPS or RF signals.
KarguFPV stands out as Türkiye’s only FPV drone equipped with a military-grade safety fuze compliant with MIL-STD-331 standards. Its approach-sensor fuze, autonomous terminal dive capability and onboard image processing systems significantly improve its strike accuracy. Sharing the same munition and fuze systems as the KARGU tactical UAV family, it offers logistical advantages and cross-compatibility within the inventory. With a mission range of 10 kilometers, more than 20 minutes of endurance in kamikaze mode and speeds reaching 160 km/h, KarguFPV continues to strengthen Türkiye’s position in next-generation drone warfare technologies.
