BREAKING NEWS
As TEKNOFEST Istanbul, the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival, continues at Atatürk Airport, one of the main attractions for defense enthusiasts has become ASELSAN’s Çelik Kubbe (Iron Dome) air defense concept. Designed to counter low-, medium-, and high-altitude threats with a multi-layered architecture, Çelik Kubbe represents Türkiye’s integrated air defense vision — and visitors are now able to experience it firsthand through a specially created interactive experience zone.
Using advanced visualization and animation technologies, the Çelik Kubbe experience area demonstrates how the system’s core elements detect, track, engage, and neutralize aerial threats. The exhibit highlights KORKUT’s low-altitude gun-based defense role, the EJDERHA and TURAN systems’ engagement mechanisms, and the HİSAR missile family’s interception capabilities — all within an interactive, scenario-based simulation that emphasizes coordination and networked operation.
Visitors can observe simulated engagement sequences that mirror real-world air defense missions. Many attendees expressed admiration for the system’s precision and reaction speed, noting that the demonstration clearly showcases how Türkiye’s domestically developed technologies are evolving from prototype stages to full-scale production.
Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), with TRT as its communication partner, TEKNOFEST continues to inspire new generations of engineers and innovators. ASELSAN’s Çelik Kubbe, with its modular, scalable, and network-centric structure, offers a glimpse into the future of Türkiye’s integrated air defense — providing adaptable protection for cities, bases, and critical infrastructure while reinforcing the nation’s strategic independence in defense technology.
