BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN has signed a major agreement with the Presidency of Defence Industries for the procurement of artificial intelligence-supported Urban Security Management Systems. According to the statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform, the total value of the sales contracts was announced as 469.974 million dollars. The agreement marks an important step in Türkiye’s development of advanced security technologies, AI-supported monitoring systems and integrated urban security infrastructure.
Under the contract, ASELSAN will develop and deliver systems designed to enable more effective use of artificial intelligence in urban security management. Urban Security Management Systems play a critical role in areas such as image processing, data analysis, incident detection, real-time monitoring, decision support and coordination between security units. With AI-supported infrastructure, security forces are expected to respond to incidents more quickly, extract meaningful results from large volumes of data and improve situational awareness in the field.
ASELSAN’s experience in electronic systems, communications, sensor technologies, command-control solutions and AI-based technologies makes the project strategically significant. The transfer of advanced technologies developed in the defence industry to public security and urban management is also a concrete example of Türkiye’s dual-use technology approach. In this context, urban security systems are not only used for monitoring and recording but also for intelligent analysis and proactive security management.
The delivery schedule of the agreement points to a long-term implementation process. According to the announcement, deliveries will be carried out between 2026 and 2029. During this period, the systems are expected to be deployed gradually according to different operational needs, integrated with existing security infrastructures and prepared for active use. The project will strengthen the technological capacity of security units while contributing to the development of critical infrastructure through domestic and national solutions.
The nearly $470 million agreement also shows that ASELSAN is a strong solution provider not only in the military field but also in civilian security and public technology applications. AI-supported Urban Security Management Systems have the potential to offer faster, smarter and more integrated responses to the growing security needs of modern cities. In this respect, the project is considered an important step toward reducing foreign dependence in security technologies and strengthening domestic software and hardware capabilities.
The contract signed between ASELSAN and SSB once again demonstrates Türkiye’s progress in electronic systems and AI-based security technologies. The domestic solutions to be developed in the field of urban security will improve the effectiveness of security units in the field and contribute to making cities safer and more manageable. With deliveries planned between 2026 and 2029, the project is expected to provide Türkiye’s security infrastructure with a significant technological capability.
