BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN has signed a new group of strategic contracts with Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries, marking another important step for the country’s defence technology ecosystem. According to the announcement made through the Public Disclosure Platform, the agreements cover the procurement of public safety communication systems, satellite communication solutions and space systems. The total value of the contracts was announced as 845 million US dollars.
The agreements are expected to strengthen Türkiye’s secure communication infrastructure with domestically developed systems. In today’s security environment, resilient and uninterrupted communication capabilities play a critical role for both military units and public institutions. For this reason, the contracts are considered significant not only in financial terms, but also in terms of Türkiye’s goal of reducing foreign dependency in strategic defence technologies.
Deliveries under the contracts are planned to begin in 2026. The systems to be supplied are expected to support secure communication networks, satellite-based connectivity and space-related defence capabilities. These areas are increasingly important for modern command and control structures, where real-time data sharing and protected communication channels are essential for operational success.
ASELSAN has long been one of Türkiye’s leading companies in secure communications and electronic systems. Founded in 1975 to meet the communication needs of the Turkish Armed Forces through national capabilities, the company has developed a broad portfolio including encrypted radios, tactical communication systems, satellite communication terminals, secure networks and advanced electronic defence technologies.
The newly signed contracts may also contribute to Türkiye’s wider integrated defence architecture. Secure communication systems are a key element in connecting air defence, early warning, command control and field units. In this context, ASELSAN’s technologies are expected to support more effective coordination between different platforms and systems, including network-centric defence structures.
ASELSAN is also working on next-generation technologies such as low Earth orbit communication satellites, military 5G, 6G communication solutions and quantum information technologies. These efforts aim to prepare Türkiye for future battlefield requirements, where speed, security and uninterrupted connectivity will become even more decisive. The 845 million dollar contract package therefore stands out as a major development that reinforces ASELSAN’s role in secure communications, satellite systems and space technologies.
