BREAKING NEWS
AKINCI armed unmanned aerial vehicle achieved a direct hit during its first firing test with the Morpheus Guidance Kit (MGK), developed entirely from domestic components by ASELSAN. The test was launched from Çorlu Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdağ, utilizing munitions developed by ROKETSAN and STM. During the first firing test conducted in Saros Gulf, AKINCI struck the designated target with full accuracy and returned successfully to base.
BAYKAR's AKINCI, developed entirely with national resources and expertise, continues to enhance its capabilities through integration of domestic subsystems and munitions. The company has successfully integrated the platform with the MAM-L, MAM-T, TOLUN munition family, TEBER-81, TEBER-82, LAÇİN, LGK series, HGK-82, GÖKÇE Guidance Kit, GÖZDE Guidance Kit, KGK-82-UAV, İHA-300 and İHA-230 Supersonic Missiles, İHA-122 Supersonic Missile, ÇAKIR Cruise Missile, EREN High-Speed Multi-Purpose Gliding Munition, and SUNGUR Air Defense Missile. This diversity enables the platform to conduct operations against various target types.
Within the Turkish defense industry ecosystem, AKINCI's successful integration with MGK demonstrates the maturity and operational effectiveness of domestic guidance systems. The MGK developed by ASELSAN plays a critical role in target designation and firing accuracy. This success results from coordinated efforts among domestic firms including BAYKAR, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and STM. The diversity of domestic munitions with varying ranges, guidance systems, and warhead options has transformed AKINCI into a multi-purpose operational platform.
BAYKAR has been the export leader in the defense and aerospace sector from 2021 through 2024, according to data from the Defense Industry Agency and Turkish Exporters Assembly. In 2023, the company conducted one-third of the sector's exports, and in 2024, it accounted for one-quarter of total defense and aerospace sector exports, positioning Turkey as a leading global UAV export market. In 2025, BAYKAR refreshed its own export record with a 2.2 billion dollar export volume and maintained its position as the world's largest unmanned aerial vehicle exporter.
BAYKAR has executed all its projects entirely with self-generated resources since inception. The company has signed export agreements with 36 countries for Bayraktar TB2 and with 16 countries for AKINCI, totaling 39 nations. Deriving 90 percent of its revenue from exports in recent years, BAYKAR has become a significant locomotive of Turkey's high-technology exports. The company entered the top 10 exporters across all sectors in Turkey in 2023, 2024, and 2025, receiving the Champions of Exports Award.
