ARES Shipyard is preparing to start the serial production of 122 ARES 35 FPB (Fast Patrol Boat) units for the Turkish Coast Guard Command. According to information shared by the firm on March 20, the project is nearing the end of its design validation phase and is in the Critical Design Review (CDR) stage, with final model tests being conducted. Serial production of the boats is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2020. Utku Alanç, the General Manager of ARES Shipyard, states that this project represents the largest serial production in Turkey's shipbuilding history and will likely set a significant record in global shipbuilding archives. The project, expected to last 5 years, will see the construction of 122 ARES 35 FPBs, with a production plan to deliver six boats every two months. ARES Shipyard aims to launch each boat within a week. The ARES 35 FPBs will be used for missions such as combating irregular immigration and smuggling, search and rescue operations, and securing exclusive economic zones.
