BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has taken another significant step in strengthening its indigenous defense capabilities with the development of a mini rocket designed specifically for unmanned systems. Troy Teknoloji Savunma has successfully created a 40-millimeter mini rocket that can be integrated into mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as well as unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). Suitable for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing low-altitude platforms, the system’s compact, lightweight structure offers substantial operational flexibility.
The mini rocket is intended to neutralize threats in risky environments without exposing personnel to danger. Its effectiveness in urban operations, cross-border missions and internal security scenarios makes it a valuable asset for modern asymmetric warfare. Fully domestically produced and easily adaptable to mission needs, the system eliminates foreign dependency and enables cost-efficient, scalable production. Measuring 170 millimeters in length, the rocket is launched from a 550-millimeter disposable tube, reaching a total weight of just 500 grams with the launch tube included. A mini UAV can carry up to six rockets, significantly boosting its striking capability.
Performance-wise, the mini rocket reaches a maximum range of 2 kilometers and operates effectively between 100 and 500 meters. Its smart, learning fuse enables its anti-personnel warhead to produce an effective radius of 12 meters. The armor-piercing warhead variant provides penetration equivalent to STANAG 4569 Level 2 protection, making it suitable against lightly armored vehicles and small structural targets.
Portability and ease of use stand out as key advantages of the system. Its lightweight and low-cost design allow operators to carry multiple units with ease, while its compatibility with UAVs, UGVs and land vehicles broadens its operational use. When mounted on small drones or unmanned ground platforms, the mini rocket can accurately engage unarmored and lightly armored vehicles, buildings and fixed positions.
This indigenous mini rocket represents a strategic advancement in Türkiye’s unmanned systems portfolio, enhancing operational effectiveness and providing a locally developed precision-strike capability for a wide range of missions.
