BREAKING NEWS
Baykar, one of Türkiye’s leading defense companies, has completed the delivery of the third batch of Bayraktar TB2 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems to Poland. This delivery is part of a historic defense agreement signed in May 2021 and marks a new milestone in Türkiye-Poland defense cooperation, while significantly enhancing Poland’s air power.
Polish Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak announced the development on social media, emphasizing that the Bayraktar TB2 systems will make a significant contribution to Poland’s national security. With this latest shipment, following the first two systems delivered earlier in 2023, the Polish Armed Forces have further strengthened their unmanned aerial capabilities. The UAVs are currently being tested at Poland’s 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Base in Mirosławiec.
The Bayraktar TB2 has already demonstrated its effectiveness on multiple battlefields, including Syria, Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh, and most notably in Ukraine. With its reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision strike capabilities, the system has earned global recognition and attracted the attention of both NATO and EU member states.
Poland stands out as the first European Union and NATO member country to acquire the Bayraktar TB2. The UAVs will be equipped with Roketsan-produced MAM-C and MAM-L smart micro munitions, providing the Polish Armed Forces with enhanced operational flexibility and strike power. This cooperation not only strengthens bilateral defense ties but also underlines Türkiye’s growing role as a key player in the global defense industry.
The delivery of the Bayraktar TB2 systems underscores Türkiye’s expanding defense export success, while at the same time enhancing Poland’s deterrence and preparedness against modern security threats.
