Turkish defense industry company Nurol Makina has achieved another significant milestone in the European market. The company outperformed nine international competitors in a tender organized by the Estonian Ministry of Defence and signed a contract worth approximately €70 million for the delivery of 100 NMS 4x4 Tactical Armored Vehicles (TAV). According to the agreement, the vehicles will be delivered to Estonia within 18 months, further strengthening Türkiye’s defense export portfolio and cooperation with NATO member states.
The signing ceremony was attended by Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur, President of Defence Industry Agency Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, and Nurol Makina’s General Manager Engin Aykol. Officials underlined that this marks Nurol Makina’s first large-scale export to a European and NATO country, highlighting the importance of this deal for the Turkish defense sector.
Nurol Makina’s General Manager Engin Aykol emphasized that this achievement was the result of a two-year effort, made possible through close collaboration with customers and procurement authorities. He noted that the NMS 4x4 stands out with its superior performance, modularity, and competitive cost, which collectively secured Estonia’s preference.
The NMS 4x4 is designed with a V-shaped monocoque body structure, advanced drivetrain systems, and extended wheelbase to enhance mobility in both rural and urban environments. Despite its lightweight design, the vehicle offers a high level of protection against asymmetric threats. Its modular configuration also allows for versatile mission adaptability, making it suitable for a wide range of battlefield roles.
This landmark export deal not only strengthens Türkiye’s position in the global defense industry but also reaffirms Turkish companies’ reputation as reliable partners in international defense collaborations.
